Keeping Your Laser Coder Cool

Keeping your laser coder cool is critical to good performance and long life.

Our new SPA (Scaleable Product Architecture) laser system from Macsa introduces a new technique for ensuring the laser tube and electronics stay cool without bringing dust and moisture into the laser – we call it Reverse Air Flow (RAF). Air is brought into the laser at the rear of the casing, well away from any particles in the air produced by the coding process. The casing itself is protected to certified IP54 levels, ensuring minimal moisture or dust ingress.

The air is then transferred through channels in the casing cooling the laser tube, electronics and galvo motors on the way, before being discharged at the front of the laser. Air is also passed across the lens to help remove any dust that might accumulate there.

The air never actually comes into contact with the electronics or the laser tube (these modules are completely sealed), ensuring that these critical areas are always clean.
