This is important because a lot of time is wasted by employees having to walk around to get to desktop computers and to print and take labels to the location they will be used.

As well as the time factor, it is proven that printing a label right at the time and place it is needed reduces the chance of labeling errors being made.

Here at Winco ID we are big believers in the mobility concept and at out ID Showcase event we will be featuring some great mobile solutions from our partners LXE and Zebra.

LXE makes some of the most rugged and powerful mobile computers around, in both hand held and vehicle mount form factors. Need to read barcodes and complete transactions in deep freeze environments? No problem.

Our good friends at Zebra have also taken mobility to heart and offer a comprehensive line up of mobile printing solutions. I particularly like the fact that Zebra offers a portable RFID printer as well as a thermal transfer model.

Need to make your full size printer mobile? At the ID Showcase, we show how our Mobile Workstation from Newcastle is designed to make this easy as well.

How can making your applications mobile help your organization? Come to the Winco ID Showcase on March 14th to find out!

LXE manufactures a rugged line of mobile computing solutions to keep your workforce on the move and connected to corporate networks.

Mobile computers are empowering workers to be more productive and accurate by capturing data at the point of activity. With the ability to communicate that information in real-time, managers have better controls over tracking, traceability and inventory control issues.

What does this mean for our customers?

Open Choices: Our new partnership with LXE allows us to offer the complete line up of mobile data collection products in hand-held, vehicle-mount, and wearable computers to suit your applications.

Runs Full-Version of Windows: LXE products offer full windows screens to allow you to run the full-version of Windows XP. You are no longer limited to Windows CE. For those of you who have faced this limitation, know how exciting this can be.

Rugged, Reliable Wireless Solutions: LXE products are designed with rugged in mind. Gone are the days when wireless was a concept for the kindest environments only. These computers are built to survive cold, even freezing temperatures with special casings, heating features and anti-fog screens. Harsh, industrial environments where flammable gases, vapors or liquids may be present are no challenge.

Complete Solutions: Along with the most expansive mobile computer line, you will find scanners, imagers, and wireless network products by the same manufacturer to complete your mobile solution.

With the advances in wireless networking, barcoding, and RF data collection, companies are taking full-advantage and mobilizing their workforce. By eliminating the need for paperwork, businesses can move at a much quicker pace and rely on electronic information from where ever they are located. It helps the green initiative as well.

Is it time for you to look at mobilizing your workforce? Do you want to know how to go wireless without a revamp to your IT infrastructure? Share with us here or call us at 603.598.1553 X237 to discuss your applications.

It is amazing how people react when around Beau. Beau’s simplicity helps remind us all to take a moment and enjoy each other as Beau does! And now if we could only train Beau to take label orders …

Thanks John for sharing with us.

Both bones in his hind leg are recovering nicely. He is off bed rest but will continue to therapy to help strengthen his muscles. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Gladys says, “This is where his good breeding shines through. His breeder, Gabriele Fish of Grey Birch Kennels, has been very supportive and checks in on Noah.”

Thanks to all of you who cared for Noah. And Noah – Good Job Boy!!!

There is no doubt that 2009 presented challenges for many businesses and in our personal lives as well. Winco ID is fortunate to have strong relationships with our clients as well as great people willing to do what it takes to service our clients.

Here’s an example of the teamwork at Winco ID. Meet Linda. Linda works in our marketing department and is a very talented writer with a brilliant attitude. She is responsible for many of the great posts on Labeling News, coordinating trade shows, and managing outbound marketing campaigns.

As of recent, some of you may have had the pleasure of talking with Linda as your Customer Service Representative, taking orders, processing paperwork, and supporting others.

Linda can also be found in the label press area lending a hand to get label jobs out the door to our customers faster.

“I really enjoy getting the chance to work in different parts of the company”, says Linda. “It’s a great way to learn how the company operates. I have a better understanding of how our products are made and marketed, from taking an order to packing the finished product. But the most rewarding part is getting to work with the best people around.”

Even if you don’t work directly with Linda, chances are she had something to do with servicing your account with Winco ID.

When she is not at Winco ID, Linda is busy with her two boys, likes to bowl, rubber stamp, go to the beach (when it’s warmer), garden a bit and be with her husband.

We are lucky to have Linda and others like her at our company who are willing to do what it takes to be sure our customers get the best service possible. As 2010 progresses, we will bring to you stories about some of our other people. Some outside interests, personal stories, and what goes on behind the scenes may surprise you!

Check back with us to see “who’s up next!” Is there someone you would like to know more about? Let us know.

Noah is an 8-month old golden retriever pup who comes to work with Gladys at Winco ID Customer Service following what could have been a tragic accident. His bravery along with the commitment of caring, dedicated people are helping Noah through his recovery.

In November, Noah was playing with his toy ball when he landed wrong and broke two bones in his hind leg. After immediate surgery under the care of Dr. Massat of Animal Medical Center in Nashua, Noah was placed on 8 weeks of bed rest with therapy. Not so easy for such a young, active pup!

Noah is 4 weeks into his recovery. He comes to work with Gladys to ensure he remains as calm as possible and has company. There is plenty of attention around as all of us at Winco ID just love stopping by to say hi to Noah. You just can’t help but be inspired by him. At home, Gladys, Wendell and his canine buddy, Logan, take good care of him.

Noah goes to therapy at “Sendaishi Pet Resort.” His regime consists of ultra sound, heat message, walking on a treadmill in a pool, agility poles and tunneling. “They really do a lot for the animals there. They have well-care, daycare, grooming, training, and more.” says Gladys. At rest, Noah stays busy with his toys that hang from his crate to entertain and comfort him.

Noah is expected to make a full recovery. This would not be not possible without the love of his family and care of talented people.

Feel free to leave your wishes for Noah and his family in our comments section.
